To me, the summer is synonymous with three things: sunshine, beautiful
weather and trips to the beach. As a Jersey girl, this has always been my summer reality. As a working NYC girl, this becomes slightly harder. Fortunately, there’s always the much-needed weekend beach trip to balance out the stressful work week but sometimes that isn’t enough. Fortunately, two days after ending my internship at Good Housekeeping magazine *cries* I was able to take a trip to Martha’s Vineyard island, off the coast of MA.

The trip in its entirety was amazing. I went with my family, family friends and my boyfriend. It was an awesome opportunity for everyone to get to know each other better, get some “Vitamin Sea,” eat some delicious fresh food (think Prosecco, lobster rolls and fish tacos—yummy!) and take in the lush green and gorgeous scenery. The island was even more natural and beautiful than I remembered it being from the last time I was there, and I managed to catch every sunset.

If there’s anything I’ve learned over the past few summers of obsessive beach going, it’s that I’m definitely a sunset chaser. Each sunset is unique, a different spread of beautiful colors, different arrangement of clouds, and a different ending to each unique day.

They serve as a reminder that we are part of something greater. That no matter what we went through that day, be it amazing, or something to forget, the sunset will be the final punctuation to the situation. The same ending that everyone else that takes the time to look up will see and reflect on. Most importantly, their beauty is a reminder of the beauty in your life, and the beauty of hoping for an even better tomorrow.

Be sure to check out more beautiful photos from the trip in the upcoming posts 🙂

Stay classy! xx
